“Long Trains Run These Tracks” by Thomas Typewriter – a new poem

poetry

Long trains run these tracks

Day and night

Tagged with letters of certain weight

And yet

From where I stand

Cracks and glimpses

Obscured views

And yet

Is there not more

From where you stand

Attempted communications

Compete with mechanical rattles

Sight, sound, signal

Time to repeat that back

And yet

Long trains run these tracks

Our communication did lack

A certain nuance

Instead a dialect of

coincidence and missed chances

“Get Out of My Stove” by Thomas Typewriter – a new poem

poetry

Neighbors, kindly and good

Get out of my stove

I will not with your birchwood

I will not with your soup bones

That which once moved

breathes long

rattle thin tones

I will not with your oakwood

I will not with your ash or thorn

Of this world I’ve had my fill

And all the others too

Where be the silence and stone

Crumbled from gilded thrones

Now get out of my stove

“Blindfolds Off” by Thomas Typewriter – a new poem

poetry

Blindfolds off, eyes unfettered

As I ask true, expecting no reply

Can you unwrap my heart

A trail grown cold

Can you unwrap my thoughts

Wind passing through fingers

Blindfolds off, eyes unfettered

As I ask true, expecting no reply

Can you unwrap my faith

A sunbeam in an empty room

Can you unwrap my hope

A house with doorways removed
