“Irregular Gears” – a new poem by Thomas Typewriter

poetry

I STRESS

In a world powered by irregular gears

failure is a good place to live

A GUESS

Constant and stable

A brochure of multiple volumes

IS LESS

Plenty of room

To stretch our voices beyond

moments that fail to line up

THAN YES

Failure is a good place to live

In a world powered by irregular gears

“Dig Below Yourself” by Thomas Typewriter – a new poem

poetry

Spell caster, melody maker

What you bring when you sing

Invocation, realization

Doorways that ring of many things

Toe tapping rhythmic gyration

Upswing, Wellspring, Worshiping

The movement’s a shovel

Digging below the gravel bone

A wing from this sting

To a realm of

Seeing the you

Unspooling like string

Across from you

“Accelerant” by Thomas Typewriter – a new poem

poetry

Breathe in deep, while you can

Accelerant, Ignition, Conflagration

Melting flesh extinguishes bonfires

Long after cities carbonize.

Accelerant, Ignition, Conflagration

How could ash piles ever bring rain clouds

“Silence is Unfaithful” by Thomas Typewriter – a new poem

poetry

Silence is unfaithful

Fleeing when needed most

Every ring of the phone

Leaves me feeling alone

Is today the day

With words too fragile

Did it hurt

A body going inert

Where do screams migrate

When flesh goes cold

-Thomas Typewriter

“A Humble Seed” by Thomas Typewriter – a new poem

poetry

A humble seed

Lost in crack and crevice

Rooms of shadow

Ponders and asks

Slivers of sunlight

If enough

To strive

To thrive

To survive

Until bloom

-Thomas Typewriter

“The Weight, The Layers” – a new poem by Thomas Typewriter

poetry

The weight of the years will never leave us

No matter how we pray

No matter how we hope

A lightness is not ours to be

Together we sink

Two grains of sand

In a clam

Please hold my hand

I love you

“Ask A Plastic Flower” – a new poem by Thomas Typewriter

poetry

Asking a plastic flower

To describe the smell of lavender

Is like

Moving back home

After traveling roads of my own choosing

Encountering dead ends

And closed for repairs

Realizing I have no sense of direction

Asking a plastic flower

To describe the smell of cinnamon

Is like

Finding your childhood bedroom

Untouched by time or therapy

Under-filled by a bed too short for sleep

Next to a hope chest

Filled with innocent requests

“I Will Not Linger” – a new poem by Thomas Typewriter

poetry

I doubt …

With a certainty oversized

I doubt …

these words will linger

past the curtain call.

Still…

I sing with vigor

Crafting a closing squall

Which…

Will be a trigger

To a sense of calm

“What do you scream?” by Thomas Typewriter

poetry

What are you to do

What choices can be made

Throat blinded

Vision raw

No planning for this.

What now that loud shifts louder

Night silhouettes

Blistering regrets

How do you scream when you are already screaming

How does your voice last.

Where is all this coming from

Who do you call

When you drown out your own voice

Irregular noises

Guttural piths

Competitive voices racing to closed doors.

Again and again I ask

How do you scream when you are already screaming
